Our Story
The inspiration for Cradle to Grave Urban Wood Products began while Alex, the founder, was working as a certified arborist in the Colorado Grand Valley, regularly removing diseased or dying trees. It was disheartening to see these beautiful trees, with unique grain and rich history, mulched or burned. As a passionate woodworker, he understood the immense value of good hardwood and couldn't reconcile why millions of board feet are imported each year, while our own local hardwoods were being discarded.
We are committed to changing the way our community views these trees after they are removed from backyards or green spaces. We see them not as waste, but as an opportunity to create something meaningful. By reclaiming and repurposing local hardwoods, we are giving these trees a new life, crafting unique, sustainable products that carry the story of our community within them.
